- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large brown onion, finely chopped
- 1kg pork sausage mince
- 1 1/2 cups fresh white breadcrumbs
- 3/4 cup pie apple (see Notes)
- 2 eggs, gently overwhelmed
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon malt vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
The instruction how to make Sausage and apple meat loaf
- Preheat oven to two hundredu00b0C. Grease and line a 7cm deep, 10cm x 20cm (base) loaf pan with baking paper. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add onion. Cook, stirring once in a while, for three to four mins or until smooth. Set aside to cool.
- Place onion, mince, breadcrumbs, pie apple, eggs, mustard, and salt and pepper right into a big bowl. Using smooth hands, mix properly. Press into loaf pan. Smooth pinnacle.
- Cut apple into quarters. Remove middle and thinly slice. Place 2 rows of apple down length of meat loaf, overlapping slightly.
- Make topping Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Brush over apple. Bake for 1 hour or till a skewer inserted into the centre comes out easy. Stand in pan for five minutes. Cut into slices. Serve.
